Qualification details
OSA UK Level 3 Award in Scaffolding Safety is an OSA qualification designed for scaffold users, erectors, inspectors, supervisors, and managers with responsibilities appropriate to the qualification level. It provides structured learning in scaffold components, stability, erection and dismantling controls, inspection, handover, use, and supervision.
What learners will develop
- Recognise common scaffold types, components, hazards, and unsafe conditions.
- Apply safe erection, alteration, dismantling, or use requirements appropriate to the learner’s role.
- Support inspection, handover, communication, and effective site supervision.
Application and assessment
Learners are expected to apply these principles to realistic workplace situations and demonstrate understanding appropriate to the qualification level. Approved centres should confirm current delivery, practical activity, and assessment requirements before enrolment.
