Quality Policy

The quality commitments that guide OSA qualifications, approved centers, assessment records, certificates, and continuous improvement.

Purpose and Scope

OSA – Occupational Safety Academy is committed to delivering occupational health, safety, and related qualifications with integrity, consistency, and practical value. This policy applies to OSA qualifications, approved centers, course registration, assessment records, certification, verification, and related support services.

Quality Objectives

  • Maintain qualifications that are relevant to workplace safety practice and employer expectations.
  • Support approved centers with clear requirements, practical guidance, and timely administration.
  • Promote fair, consistent, and evidence-based assessment decisions.
  • Protect the accuracy, security, and traceability of learner, course, result, and certificate records.
  • Use feedback, audits, complaints, appeals, and performance data to improve services.

Approved Center Standards

Centers seeking approval must demonstrate suitable capability, staffing, facilities, administrative control, learner support, and commitment to OSA requirements. OSA may review applications, request evidence, conduct checks, and set conditions before approval is granted.

Approved centers are expected to maintain delivery standards, protect learner interests, keep accurate records, use qualified staff, and cooperate with monitoring, moderation, audit, and corrective action processes.

Assessment and Certification Integrity

OSA expects assessment activity to be valid, fair, reliable, and supported by appropriate evidence. Results should be recorded accurately and reviewed where moderation, quality assurance, complaint, appeal, or malpractice concerns arise.

Certificates should only be issued where required learner, course, assessment, and administrative conditions have been met. Certificate verification exists to protect learners, centers, employers, and the wider public from inaccurate or fraudulent claims.

Learner Support and Inclusion

OSA encourages centers to provide clear information, accessible learning support, fair assessment arrangements, and respectful communication. Learners should be told how to raise questions, complaints, appeals, or requests for reasonable support.

Complaints, Appeals, and Malpractice

OSA takes concerns about service quality, assessment decisions, certificate accuracy, center conduct, and malpractice seriously. Reports may be reviewed through relevant evidence, center records, learner information, assessor input, and any applicable agreement or procedure.

Where a concern is upheld, OSA may require corrective action, amend records, withhold or withdraw certification, suspend center access, or take other proportionate action.

Continuous Improvement

OSA reviews feedback, operational data, audit outcomes, qualification performance, support requests, and stakeholder concerns to identify improvements. Quality is treated as an ongoing responsibility shared by OSA staff, approved centers, trainers, assessors, and administrators.
